Always write your blog posts quickly

See? This is why I didn't want to delay any longer in writing Monday's post about Iowa-- because it would have sounded over dramatic, given the outcome of Tuesday's NH primary.

Also, once again record turnout in the Democratic primary, while the Republican primary turnout was down compared to 2000.

Alright, enough blogging about politics until early February, I think.

The turnout records don't mean more Dem. individuals voting and fewer Rep. individuals - it means more independents chose a Dem. rather than a Rep. ticket, so I consider it a strong indicator that NH perceives the real race to be the Dem. one.

Well, both races were highly contested. I took the turnout results to mean that there was a lot more excitement about the candidates on the Dem side.
