Transitioning to E-Books is Hard

Eventually, I'm probably going to get a Kindle. I think this is inevitable. Especially when I'm travelling, it would be nice to have a bunch of books stored in electronic format on a small device rather than lugging around a bag full of books.

That said, I'm reluctant to give up physical copies of media. I still buy CDs. I need to "own" something, not just have a "license" to read something that can be granted or erased on the whim of the license owner and that I can loan to friends or sell at will.

I also own a lot of books. I like having them. They're like the story of my life. This is something that makes moving sort of a pain, however... these books aren't even counting the multiple shelves worth of computer books I have in my office:
